Random Thoughts: Weekend Agendas

I was planning to do my gift wrapping this weekend but I didn’t. I haven’t even bought any wrappers for them, and I am giving away some of the gifts little by little, haha! I was thinking if I can just hand them one by one, without wrapping it, but that would spoil my idea of Christmas. So Nuf said, NEED TOO BUY GIFT WRAPPER!

Jon, Ghik and myself watched Ninja Assassin yesterday. I was made to believe that the movie was great, so we went to Eastwood to catch the 12:45 NN screening. GORE! GORE! And more GORE! Effect were good but the story was a BLAH! No depth, no catchy line, in other words the story line did not work for me. Don’t get me wrong I love Kill Bill, it was violent, gory and disturbing but I loved it! This one? Oh no! The last shot where Rizo went up the wall that his girlfriend climbed when she tries to escape the “camp” I thought Rizo would say “My name is Rain. ” hahahaha!

I was watching Sex and the City Season 1 last night after PBB elimination night. I downed 5 episodes in one sitting, and stopped when I saw it was dawn. I can’t get enough of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda. I love these women. I so envy Carrie for having those shoes! Now I know what I want, next year I will start my shoe collection! haha! I hope I can do that!

I am still heartbroken about the rompers I saw in Zara Rockewel, still dreaming that someday I will have one. Last week I visited Zara Greenbelt 5 like 3 times, haha! I won’t be surprised if the sales assistant already recognized my face haha! Still sad on the outcome of my romper search, I went on with my shopaholic adventure. I went to SPACE last Saturday as advised by my cousin Tei, I saw cheaper but also pretty playsuit. I was really torn if I will get this or not but as the snobby sales lady told me that this was their last stock and usually they don’t replenish, I decided to get it. I gave them my credit card but their machine was busted, then and there I decided to reserve it and get it back today. A while ago we went back to the store to get it, I am so happy the sales lady hold my reservation. Although I’m still not over my Zara romper, I am happy with my purchase.

I bought a gift for my Kris-Kringle baby a while ago. I was laughing at my self when I bought the gift for my baby, our theme for tomorrow was somthing adult, haha! So psyched on how will my baby react if he/she gets my present, hahaha! Surprise baby! Merry Christmas! hahaha!

I had dinner with Jon in Causway today. It was a nice dimsum festival, we agreed not to have rice tonight so we just feasted on dimsum. We ordered Chicken Feet, Crab Roe Siomai, Spare Ribs with Tausi and Buchi. Love their Crab Roe Siomai and Spare Ribs with Tausi. Yum Yum! We enjoyed the food while people watching in the restaurant. With good and cheap food, we will surely come back here.

random thoughts: saturday mall day…

I declare today as mall day! Well for Jonard and me at least, today we need to finish our Christmas shopping. We went to total of 3 shopping malls, hah! From Rockwell, to SM Marikina, to Robinsons Metro East… Whew! this day is tiring! Glad we finished our shopping, now all I need is to wrap these gifts. Hmmmm when shall I start????

I dunno what got into me but I am so  obsessed now with rompers. They’re so versatile, hip and (depending on the style and fabric) comfy. Well my only restrictions are no tube top for me, no too short-shorts for me and no too skimpy outfit for me. On my trip to the mall a while ago, I found a perfect romper for me in ZARA. Weeee! I was about to buy it but found a little damage in the zipper, so with a heavy heart I let it go.    I’ll check the other branches tomorrow, hopefully they still have my size.

I planned to cook this weekend, we passed by the grocery to buy some of the ingredients that I need for my version of Shrimp Fra Diablo. I went to Rustan’s Grocery in Rockwell to look for Chili Flakes as I find this hardly available in the groceries here in our area. I asked the first guy I saw that wears Rustan’s uniform. Here is the gist of our conversation:

A: Boss, san po dito ung mga Chili Flakes nyo?

B: Anu po un ma’am flakes po ba?

A: Oho, san po ba nakalagay ung mga un dito?

B: Ah flakes pala, dito po yan.

He accompanied me to the aisle of the Flakes, uhmmm… Corn flakes! Wow! I thought he understood what I was looking for. Oh my, I wanted to laugh but I gained my composure back and just thanked him, ahihihihi! Well, I found what I was looking for and voila! Here is the finish product:

random thoughts: on tuesday muse day…

9:38AM – I just had a big mug of coffee and mini Pande Coco from Dao Bakery for breakfast, it was so yummy and filling. Brings me back to the days when we were kids, every afternoon we buy bread in Dao for our afternoon snacks. Spanish bread and Pande Coco were our favorites, Whew! I can live on with eating this Pande Coco everyday.

10:13AM – Why do I get this feeling that I do not belong anywhere? Hmmmm… is this just me or its really happening?  Maybe I’m no longer needed? Maybe I need to wake up from this deep slumber? Maybe I need to… Maybe I have to… Wait a minute! Where am I going?! I think I’m lost…

12:54NN – Done with lunch. My gulay it was like the extension of Lechon Festival. We had lechon paksiw and lechon kawali yesterday, and today our lunch was…. TADAAA! Lechon Paksiw (part2) and Lechon with Tofu. haha! I don’t think I will ever crave for lechon anytime soon.

2:48PM – Busy looking for a dentist. I found one actually, but the prices were so steep and they do not accept card payment. ERK! I have to look for cheaper alternative! Can anyone help me???

3:20PM – Update on my search for a dentist! Got one, booked tomorrow for cleaning and consultation. Its kinda’ weird, I called the same dental company but the price discrepancies were way too big. Got confused with the prices and everything, good thing they accept credit card on this one. Wish me luck guys! Thi is it! :)

5:04PM – I’m still undecided if I’ll go to the gym or not. It’s been 1 weeks since my last visit. I am in my Lazy Daisy mode. This damn headache is killing me for a week now. I need motivation! Now Naaaaa!!!  

going indo…

I woke up late yesterday only to find out that no body cooked breakfast. Hungry and still a little groggy from sleep, I opened our stock cabinet looking for corned beef. Found nothing but cans and cans of sardines from relief goods that were given to us last September. I saw some thing that was in pack and pulled it out. TADAAAA! It was my pasalubog from Kuya Raul’s Indonesia trip. This is perfect, I have craved for Nasi Goreng for the past week. Oh how I miss my Indonesia Trip.

I read the instructions at the back of the package and looked for the ingredients needed. I was lucky to find out that we have shrimp in the fridge. This is so meant to happen, haha! Cooked the package according to instructions, asked Mama Ti to cook scrambled eggs, and here is the finished product. Yum! Yum! Yum!

It was like going back to Jamie’s home in Indonesia all over again. I miss that place! I miss her room, the entertainment room, the dining and kitchen area and I miss the pool, waaaaaaaaaa! I remembered we swam in the pool when the rain stopped. We were re-enacting Blue Crush hahaha! *Paddle! Paddle! Paddle* hahahahaha! Do you see how food reminds me of what I have done for the past? haha! I love eating and traveling. I hope some day I will return to Indonesia and feast on some of the food that were introduced to me in my past trip.  Wishful thinking! haha! Whew!

Chocoholic…

“Hi I’m Anne. I’m a Chocoholic!” (Hi Anne!)

I think I’m turning into one… Seriously! For this week, I ate so much chocolate that I feel I’m about to barf when I see one. Not that I do not want to eat some more, but this is not the usual me! I am not a fan of chocolates. I just eat when I’m in the mood. But who can resist Ghirardelli? Kit Kat? Mars? ARRRGGHHH!

Everyone just came back from vacation last Halloween break, and they all brought some pasalubong. Most of the gave me chocolates and unconsciously  I am slowly devouring every thing. I just noticed that there are only 3 pieces left of my Ghirardelli. Who the hell ate them??? Well, I did of course, haha! Now I have to put them away or else they won’t survive the day.

I need to keep my self away from sweets. This can’t be good. I have learned to stay away from too much salt and alcohol, but now I am veering towards my sweet tooth. This can’t be happening! If I don’t stop munching chocolates, I won’t get well with my colds! And if I don’t get well, I won’t enjoy the week-end. Erk! Breathe Anne breathe… OK now, pick up the 3 pieces of chocolates and place it in your goodie box…. Good! haha! I just did it! Hopefully I forget about them and surprise my self for a treat next week! lolz!

I was craving for Java Man’s Crispy Sardines Pasta awhile ago while doing my updates for Facebook and Twitter. My cravings led me to Yummy.ph to search for a recipe, similar to the pasta that I want. I came across a pasta recipe that uses Spanish sardines and sun-dried tomatoes. I opened it, found it easy to follow but as I search for available ingredients in our kitchen, I noticed that I do not have some of its major elements.

No sun-dried tomatoes, no chili flakes and no sprig dill. I just have 3 cans of Spicy Spanish Sardines, Pasta, Garlic and Oil. Ok forget about the complicated ingredients! I’ll just improvise or work on what I have. I’ll do my version of the Spicy Sardine Pasta and I’ll call it…. Pasta ala Hampas Lupa, Hahahaha! So here is my no fuzz recipe:

Pasta ala Hampas Lupa

3 cans Spicy Spanish Sardines

400 grams Spaghetti Noodles

Oil

Garlic

Parmesan Cheese

Chili Flakes (optional)

Procedure: Cook pasta according to package. Drain and mash sardines. In a pan, sauté garlic and mashed sardines. Cook until the desired crispiness is achieved. Add the noodles and mix it well. Top it with grated Parmesan cheese and chili flakes.

The recipe is so easy to do. I’m glad my family enjoyed the simple food that I prepared. Hopefully next time, I will find time to cook more often; I love it when I see that they appreciate the food that I prepared for them. 

wake up sleepy head!

I am so sleepy… ZZZZZZZ… I’m physically here in my desk but my mind is dozing off somewhere. I can’t concentrate on my work today, it doesn’t  help that I can not log in to YM now. I am used to multitasking you know,  haha! We just ate our share of the “lechon paksiw” from yesterday’s free lunch and it’s so much harder to keep my eyes open now that I am full.  

I need coffee guys!!! This is the effect of not having my morning coffee. I am currently practicing “no coffee for the day” because of my damn hyper-acidity. I cheated twice already, can’t help it, especially when Ate Mel arrived, she brought Vietnam coffee for our pasalubong. 

GRRRRR… will I give in to the temptation in front of me??? Think Anne think! Think of the pain that it will give you after consuming the cup. Think of your plans for later. Think of Mama who will scold you when she sees you in pain. Think of your SLs and VLs, you need those for future use. Think of your last hyper-acidity attack. Hmmmm… Ok not worth it! haha! A little sacrifice can go a long way. I’ll just drink water and start to work on my tons of dispatch.  Back to work!

Isa ito sa aking pinaka-paboritong pinoy agahan. Kaya naman tuwang-tuwa ako nung nagluto si Mama Tie nito nung weekend. Kita nyo naman hindi ako maka get over sa sarap, kinunan ko pa ng picture.

Syempre pag me dilis con kamatis kailangan ng sinangag, para kumpletong ang masarap na agahan.

Hay nakaka-gutom naman, buti na lang kakatapos ko lang maglunch. Mas masarap talaga ang mga simpleng pagkain. Mas madali pang kainin. Sana sa susunod na agahan ganito ulit handa ni Mama Tie. Pramis kahit mahirap, gigising ulit ako ng maaga.
