Hair Hair Hair

I just got my hair cut yesterday; it is the shortest cut I have ever sported. I had plans to go this short in my head but never realized that I will be brave enough to do it. Haha! I have booked the appointment for me and my good friend Dothy to Jing Monis Salon last year, and got the confirmation February 19 for our hair cut. Edwin, Dothy and Charlee picked me up at home yesterday for our hair day appointment. We went to Greenhills first to do some wallet shopping, and then we went to Greenbelt 1 in Makati for our haircut appointment.

We arrived just in time for our 2PM appointment, thank God! I don’t want to be late! I was worried that we won’t get there in time because of the unpredictable metro traffic. I know I sound a little uptight when it comes to punctuality but I really get turned off with people who are late for their appointments. Anyways, I got in first because I booked Jing Monis himself for the haircut, since he cut my hair last October I never felt safe with another stylist, haha! OC? I don’t know if it’s just me but I’m really uneasy when it comes to my haircuts, haha! So better stick with the experts. :)

I sat on the chair waiting for my turn, then out of nowhere he was behind me asking the usual question. Our conversation went like this:

J: Hi! So what’s your plan? What do you have in mind? :)

A: I am not decided because I don’t know kung bagay sakin ang pixie cut. But I think I want something like this (showed a picture of Katie Holmes)

J: Yeah ok naman, you can do that… That’s not even pixie, mahaba pa yan.

A: Or my friends were asking me to do the hair of Cesca Litton (showed a picture of Cesca in UNO)

J: (smiles) Ah… You know what I was the one who cut Cesca’s hair in this picture.

A: (Blush) Oh my Gosh! Really? Looks so nice, but I’m not sure of it will look good on me. (Kakahiya, haha!)

J: This is really short, front lang ang long..

A: Bagay ba sakin to? I was the girl who came here na long hair, and asked you to cut it all off, haha!

J: Pwede naman. Yeah! I remember you… :)

A: I still have the picture na pinag-gayahan natin ng hair ko before, at I was thinking din kung yun na lang kaya ulit?

J: No! Let’s do something different. Let’s make it shorter… :)

A: Ok! Go! :)

The result…

VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100

I lili lili love it! Haha! It’s really different, pixie style that I think I can pull it off. Now I am dying to have my hair color, I will definitely go back to the salon for it. Actually Dothy and I are now fixing our schedule for it. I am so happy they also enjoyed and love Jing Monis Salon; even Edwin got his hair cut and loved it! :) This is yet another successful salon trip that will definitely make me stay more with them. Thank you so much for taking care of us guys! :) See you in 2 weeks maybe for our hair color session. :)

Saturday Scare and Sunday FUN Day

I had no car for the weekend. Bummer! So I stayed home last Saturday. Just me and Toshiko while having my daily chats with Diane. It was hot, lazy, bed and me day. What I did was lie around, chat and watch a movie on the side. Talk about multi-tasking, haha! I got tired of my “multi-tasking” so I decided to take a walk, prelude to running. I was trying to get back to running as advised by my good boss Kuya B, because apparently he noticed that I become so sickly. I was having asthma attacks lately due to the clean up project we were doing in GSO. Having said that my walk/run was not that successful. I got  dizzy after trying to run. :( Can you believe it? I went home riding a bike! Irk! Talk about embarrassing myself, good thing I did not passed out in the middle of the road, hahaha!

Then Sunday came, whew! Look how time flies. I decided to go to mass at St. Pio in Libis this morning. The weather was extra hot this morning so I decided to wear something fun, something girly and something summer. :) I wore one of the dress that I purchased on Ebay. Floral with a low neckline, ooopppsss not for Sunday mass, I wore some inner thingy so as not to break the dress code in church. I arrived a bit late in ST. Pio, but just in time to catch the readings.  As usual the homily was lovely, touching and very lively.

After the mass I went to Eastwoood to meet up with Jon. He just came back from the clinic because his Dad was sick. He met me in our favorite burger joint Stacker’s. I ate my usual House Burger, Fries and Iced Tea. We were waiting for the stores to open because I need to buy a track pants for my tree planting on May 5, this will be my second tree planing on the same park. I need to wear pants, because I know what to expect on the scene. Oh well, we got bored and played with Jon’s new phone, so here are the evidence of our boredom, haha!

My little shopping trip was not successful. Boo! :( Iwas able to find a good track pants in Adidas but I have no size. :( Not to worry here, I still have time to look for the perfect track pants for me. :) Next weekend I plan to rummage every sports store that I can, I need those pants! Take note, I need them! It’s not a want, It’s a need. This is me justifying my future spending, haha!

Merry Christmas! :)

Is it Christmas again or what?! I got several gifts for the past week for myself from my AIP and from the GCs that I won last Christmas. It feels like I am in the Christmas mood all over again. Weeee! Well, Christmas shopping mood for that matter, minus the money spent, haha! Let’s see what did I get free for the past weeks..

1. Free Lunch in Dads/ Saisaki Buffet – It was a getting off lunch for Ate Rhoda and we were kinda’ avoiding the fire drill in TEC so we went off to Dads to eat lunch. :) Double whammy! I get to eat for free and got free from going down 20th Floor, which was hundreds of  flight of stairs. We went out early lunch and got back at 3PM. Haha!

2. Liz Claiborne Sling Bag from my Rustan’s GCs – I have held on to my Rustan’s GC for the past Christmas Season. I was really saving it for something I need. Endless trips to Rustan’s were major torture. It gave me a hard time to concentrate on my needs as to my wants. Since I have this trip to Singapore next month, I got this idea that I need to have a sling bag big enough to hold some of the important things that I need, but small enough to comfortably carry around. We looked around Rustan’s Gateway and found this Black Liz Claiborne Sling Bag, and in an instant I fell in love with it!, I must have this! I need this! I want this! But it was too late and the store was closing up, so we decided to leave. When I got back the next weekend it was sold! Huhuhu! Knowing my very persistent self I decided to raid Rustan’s Makati, luckily I was shown this same bag and I never let it go. Haha!

3. Levi’s Boyfriend Jeans from Ate Mel and Daddy Henry – As promised Ate Mel brought home a jeans for me from Vietnam. I was really excited because she told me that Daddy was looking for one jeans for me from their production. Ate Mel told me that she will bring it on her next trip here in the Philippines for the CNY break. I got this yesterday, praying that it would fit and some what look good in me. I really love the light weight denim feel, the distressed look and over all appearance of the Boy Friend Jeans. I tried the jeans on while I was in the office and it was perfect! Now I am thinking how to dress this up and what perfect top and shoes to wear. I am so psyched to wear this! :) Thanks Ate and Daddy for your gift. :)

IMG_4169

Now I am in the mood for some Christmas Song! Haha! Doesn’t it feels like Christmas?! :) Oh well, I want to thank all those who made me feel Christmas this mid-February! Thank you guys! I love you all! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!

valentine shopping weekend

I am not a fan of Valentine’s Day. I don’t know why, I’m just not. I love sappy movies, sweet stuff but I am not  that sappy and that sweet myself. So as far as I know my self, I do not look forward to this occasion. No offense meant people, it’s just my opinion. :) Yesterday was no different from the rest of the Valentine’s Day that I had, but regardless I was happy surrounded by the people I love and the things that I got for my self, haha!

Saturday we were at Boni High St. to replace the Nike+ Sportsband kit that I got. Luckily they agreed to replace my defective item with apparel, woohooo! Got one Yoga Shirt and a Top for Running, I decided to share the amount left to Jon and he decided to get earphones for running. :)

IMG_4168

Sunday, Valentines day we went back to Bonofacio High St. to ask help with the Nike+ sensor of Jon and to look for an iPod case for Tei. We were window shopping in Topshop when I saw a perfect Black Ballet Flats and I knew I have to buy it! It was love at first sight. I was really looking for a black foot wear because the only black sandals that I bought when Diane and I were in Singapore is already begging for its retirement. Poor thing, it was really abused by my sadistic feet. Tsk Tsk! To cut the story short I got the flats. Weeee!

IMG_4164

Before going home we went to Apple Center – SM Marikina to buy the iPod case of Tei because she did not find anything that she liked in iStudio. After our short trip in Apple Center, Jon, Tei and myself ate in BK, while eating we were discussing what eyewear should I buy for myself. There’s this Rayban Wayferer that I have eyed for the longest time and there’s this Oakley Jupiter same as Jon’s eye wear. I was having a hard time looking or the perfect Rayban Wayferer size for myself because their small which is common in the market does not fit me well. So I have settled to the other bigger size, it’s either medium or large, but it was very hard to find. :(

We went to Magno Optical Metro East to check if they have an available size of the Black Rayban Wayferer that I want. Wow! it must be my day, because not only that they have it in Medium it was also on SALE! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I bought the eye wear in an instant and we will live happily ever after, hahaha! Well I hope we will. :P My Valentine week-end was a blast,  if this happens every year maybe I’ll change my mind about the occasion and celebrate it myself, minus being cheesy and clingy. :P

Holidays are over and I grew older, I can’t get over my long vacation leave. I want more!!! I had my first day in the office yesterday, a total of 237 emails, with 3 junk mails greeted me in Outlook. Sorted them first then answered the important once. A part of me was glad that I was back to work but I felt very lazy and sleepy. As the afternoon progressed, I was excited to go home. I missed Toshiko, my bed, late night chats and sleepless nights. I can’t wait for the weekend to come. :)

I went home at exactly 5PM a while ago, to return my buy to Just G because of some tear at the back of the blouse. I bought some stuff in the boutique last Sunday as a gift for my self for my birthday. Well first thing’s first, I bought rompers again, haha! I don’t know why I’m loving this trend. :) Here is the picture of my last rompers buy, you may not appreciate as its lying on the floor, but this is so cute when worn. :)

IMG_4085

Ain’t it cute?? :)

Uhm… Back to my story, I approached the counter in Just G to show my purchase yesterday. The sales lady told me that I can only choose something from their SALE rack. I did not find anything that I like in their SALE rack and have decided to refund my money, good thing the sales lady got an approval from their manager that I can choose the replacement from their regular priced pieces.  Having limited choices because of size limitations, I chose a sleeveless number with side pockets. Not really happy with my purchase but, they left me no choice, I’m thinking of selling this in eBay. Hopefully someone will buy it. :)

As Diane would say “Oh Well Papel” back to the real world. No more Simbang Gabi, no more midnight snacks, no more late night chats and no more late night movie marathons. I am starting to get a hang of my coming back to reality mode, by making a big change in my working habits. Staying focus in my work and less internet time, haha! So far I’m doing great, I know I can do this. Occasional checking of my blog, Yahoo mail and Twitter won’t hurt me, besides I need diversion from time to time. :)

mer-MAID for a day, or so it seems… and my hair raising drama…

I woke up with a loud knocking in my door at 8AM this morning. Can you believe it?? 8 effing AM! It was my kuya who was at the door informing me that Jenny (our maid) is feeling sick. I got up and went to Jenny’s room, I saw her lying in bed, she was very pale and her eyes close. Annoyed for waking up this early, I returned to bed and checked my downloads in Toshiko. Surprisingly it did not have much progress. Then my phone rang, it was Mama. She is asking what happened to Jenny and she is requesting me to look after her as my brothers went out to buy meds for her.

When my two brothers got back from their medicine errands, I finally got out of bed. I realized that today is my long over due haircut schedule in Azta Salon in Metro East, I have to be there at 10 AM. Before taking a bath, I cooked breakfast for the 3 of us, I cooked Nasi Goreng and Daing. After breakfast I took a bath and went to Metro East to meet a buyer and for my haircut. I was waiting for my turn when the buyer texted me, so I asked Jon to meet her as I can’t escape the hands of Ate Baby as she preps me for my dreaded  first timer in this salon drama.

Mel was the one who cut my hair today. He got most of what I want, but missed the bangs part. Hmmmm… Can I blame him when the line that needs his services were as long as the line of MRT ticket booth? I was expecting a smaller group as I am scheduled this early, but to my surprise when I arrived there, I saw 2 customers waiting for their turn. So much for me beating the time for me to cook lunch at home. I was attended 30 minutes later that my booked schedule. After the blow drying and all, I asked Mel to cut my bangs, a little disoriented because of the people waiting for him, he suggested that I go side swept bangs and I agreed. I know, I was hoping for a more edgier hair style but I settled to stay in the safe side. As I leave the salon, I couldn’t help but wonder, how will I look if I took the plunge in cutting my hair? Will blunt bangs fit me? Hmmmmm…. When I got home I asked for a pair scissors and decided to cut my bangs. If not for Jon I would have chopped an inch off.  Crazy right? haha!

Here is the result of my haircut. I was going for the Anne Hathaway The Devil Wears Prada look, but fell short, haha:

As for my mer-Maid drama, I did not get home in time to cook for lunch. But a good maid like me have my back up plan. I took home some take-outs, haha! So much for me being domesticated for a day, lol! Get well soon Jenny. :)

Random Thoughts: Weekend Agendas

I was planning to do my gift wrapping this weekend but I didn’t. I haven’t even bought any wrappers for them, and I am giving away some of the gifts little by little, haha! I was thinking if I can just hand them one by one, without wrapping it, but that would spoil my idea of Christmas. So Nuf said, NEED TOO BUY GIFT WRAPPER!

Jon, Ghik and myself watched Ninja Assassin yesterday. I was made to believe that the movie was great, so we went to Eastwood to catch the 12:45 NN screening. GORE! GORE! And more GORE! Effect were good but the story was a BLAH! No depth, no catchy line, in other words the story line did not work for me. Don’t get me wrong I love Kill Bill, it was violent, gory and disturbing but I loved it! This one? Oh no! The last shot where Rizo went up the wall that his girlfriend climbed when she tries to escape the “camp” I thought Rizo would say “My name is Rain. ” hahahaha!

~*~

I was watching Sex and the City Season 1 last night after PBB elimination night. I downed 5 episodes in one sitting, and stopped when I saw it was dawn. I can’t get enough of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda. I love these women. I so envy Carrie for having those shoes! Now I know what I want, next year I will start my shoe collection! haha! I hope I can do that! :)

I am still heartbroken about the rompers I saw in Zara Rockewel, still dreaming that someday I will have one. Last week I visited Zara Greenbelt 5 like 3 times, haha! I won’t be surprised if the sales assistant already recognized my face haha! Still sad on the outcome of my romper search, I went on with my shopaholic adventure. I went to SPACE last Saturday as advised by my cousin Tei, I saw cheaper but also pretty playsuit. I was really torn if I will get this or not but as the snobby sales lady told me that this was their last stock and usually they don’t replenish, I decided to get it. I gave them my credit card but their machine was busted, then and there I decided to reserve it and get it back today. A while ago we went back to the store to get it, I am so happy the sales lady hold my reservation. Although I’m still not over my Zara romper, I am happy with my purchase. :)

I bought a gift for my Kris-Kringle baby a while ago. I was laughing at my self when I bought the gift for my baby, our theme for tomorrow was somthing adult, haha! So psyched on how will my baby react if he/she gets my present, hahaha! Surprise baby! Merry Christmas! hahaha!

I had dinner with Jon in Causway today. It was a nice dimsum festival, we agreed not to have rice tonight so we just feasted on dimsum. We ordered Chicken Feet, Crab Roe Siomai, Spare Ribs with Tausi and Buchi. Love their Crab Roe Siomai and Spare Ribs with Tausi. Yum Yum! We enjoyed the food while people watching in the restaurant. With good and cheap food, we will surely come back here. :)

I was having sort of bad day yesterday in the office. One of my not so “close” colleague” pissed me off. It was not the first time that she did this to me. Maybe she’s not that sensitive when it comes to dealing with people. Maybe she is just used in getting what she wants, when she wants it. I do not mind doing favors for other people, but I just don’t want to be volunteered without being asked first. Call me sensitive I don’t care, with this mood I left the office early to meet my cousin Tei.

Tei and I met in Greenbelt 3, we are  shopping for her accessories tonight. We went to Greenbelt 5 to look for a perfect neck piece to go with her tube dress. We went to Kashieca, Bayo, Zara, Mng, Promod and ALDO, only to find elegant but a bit pricy for a fancy accessory. Still undecided we went to The Ramp, fitted several bib necklace but no luck in finding a perfect one.

To cut the story short, Tei did not buy anything for herself last night, but I did. haha! We were in ALDO accessories when I spotted some sandals hangging under the SALE rack, I saw the sandals that I have wanted for a long time! From the original price of 2k+ to 1.6k it was a very good deal, it was really my lucky night because they still have my size. Weeeeeeeee! I did not think twice, got my credit card and swiped! In an instant I felt I was healed, haha! Healed from my negative thoughts on what had happened in the office earlier. Healed from my stressful life. Healed from feeling hungry. Whew! Retail therapy indeed is a good healer! :)

random thoughts: saturday mall day…

I declare today as mall day! Well for Jonard and me at least, today we need to finish our Christmas shopping. We went to total of 3 shopping malls, hah! From Rockwell, to SM Marikina, to Robinsons Metro East… Whew! this day is tiring! Glad we finished our shopping, now all I need is to wrap these gifts. Hmmmm when shall I start????

~*~

I dunno what got into me but I am so  obsessed now with rompers. They’re so versatile, hip and (depending on the style and fabric) comfy. Well my only restrictions are no tube top for me, no too short-shorts for me and no too skimpy outfit for me. On my trip to the mall a while ago, I found a perfect romper for me in ZARA. Weeee! I was about to buy it but found a little damage in the zipper, so with a heavy heart I let it go. :(    I’ll check the other branches tomorrow, hopefully they still have my size. :)

~*~

I planned to cook this weekend, we passed by the grocery to buy some of the ingredients that I need for my version of Shrimp Fra Diablo. I went to Rustan’s Grocery in Rockwell to look for Chili Flakes as I find this hardly available in the groceries here in our area. I asked the first guy I saw that wears Rustan’s uniform. Here is the gist of our conversation:

A: Boss, san po dito ung mga Chili Flakes nyo?

B: Anu po un ma’am flakes po ba?

A: Oho, san po ba nakalagay ung mga un dito?

B: Ah flakes pala, dito po yan.

He accompanied me to the aisle of the Flakes, uhmmm… Corn flakes! Wow! I thought he understood what I was looking for. Oh my, I wanted to laugh but I gained my composure back and just thanked him, ahihihihi! Well, I found what I was looking for and voila! Here is the finish product:

Dilemma…. Aaaawwww!

Torn! Torn! Torn! I just don’t know what to do! I keep on thinking is it really worth it? Will it make me feel better? Will it make my life easier? Will it make me more confident? There are so many questions, so little answer. I really can’t decide on what to do with my hair!

Almost every day is a bad hair day for me. I usually wake up at 5:30 AM, take a bath for 20-30 minutes, change clothes for another 30 minutes or so, then leave the house. No time or should I say too lazy to blow dry, and when my hair is air-dried? It gains its own life. I have thick and frizzy hair, so I need to exert an effort if I want it to behave properly. Well, due to my laziness, I just comb it to place and tie it with my ever reliable scrunchie.

I am at the crossroad with my hair issues now. I have not cut my hair for more than a year! This morning my carpool schedule was a bit late so I had the time to dry my hair and iron it out. The result was lovely, haha! I wish I could do this every day. But knowing myself, it’s really impossible. So I began to think what will I do with my hair?

I have set a beauty day with Diane; we plan to have our hair rebonded at the same time when she arrives here in the Philippines. I was contemplating whether to go on with this plan or not. First rebonding is really expensive; having a hair like mine means more money to shell out. Second, it can cause hair damage, split ends, breakage and the likes. Third, maintenance, erk! Need I say more? On a positive note, it will really make my life way easier. I can just wash it then run.

On a more daring side, I want to explore digital perm. Think of the likes of Carrie Bradshaw and Victoria (Twilight), or Nicole Richie and Vanessa Hudgens. Curls! Curls! Curls! But here is the thing, first, it’s also expensive and second it’s harder to keep up! But on the other side it can make my life easier because I do not need to comb, haha! Just flip it then you’re ready to go.

Oh my! This is really a dilemma, but I think I know the solution. I do not need expensive treatments; I just need to pay more attention to my hair. I need to take care of it and be more patient. Now my only problem is will I cut it short or keep it long? I need to grow my hair for Claire’s wedding next year, but I also like to try trendy and short haircut. Darn it! I really can’t decide! AHA! I have an idea, can I just shave my head and invest on wigs instead? haha!
