Grammys Here I Come! :-P

I got this little game from my FB, I was tagged by one of my friends, so here I gave it a try…

Rules of the Game:

1. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page and click on “Random Article”. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2. Go to http://quotationspage.com/ and click on “Random Quotes”. The last few words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3. Go to http://www.flickr.com/explore/ and click on “Interesting photos from the last seven days”. The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. And in case you decide to post the final product, even if we’re just doing this for fun, don’t forget to acknowledge whoever owns the original image!

4. Use Photoshop to put it all together.

5. And voila, you’ve got you band’s CD album cover!

- Just to add more fun to the Album cover game, I decided to repeat Step 1 and 2, for my 12 album tracks, haha! Enjoy! :)

*Drum Roll* Presenting the future “Album of the Year!” Hahahaha!

Another Yoga Post… :)

I hate doing my Chaturanga Dandasana! In lay man’s term, I hate doing low push-ups! Having weak upper body low push-ups gives me a hard time. After each Yoga session, I feel the pain in my arms, shoulders and upper back. If I can get away in doing Chaturanga I will, but it’s a part of Vinyasa sequence that Eunice asks us to do. I have been attending Yoga classes in the office as a part of my fitness goal, I love everything about it, but I just hate this Chaturangga pose.

March Yoga classes began last Thursday; we just started because we had our Media Launch last Tuesday/ March 1. I am the Yoga class organizer and as one of my perks I get to set the date on my availability, haha! No Anne, no Yoga, haha! We started a bit late last Thursday; we waited for someone who was late because of some certain issues that need to be addressed.

We started with “Surya Namaskar A” or Sun Salutation A like we always do, then move to “Surya Namaskar B” or Sun Salutation B. This is done to warm up our bodies for the more challenging poses. As a part of both “Surya Namaskar A and B,” we have to do “Chaturanga Dandasana” as we flow from one pose to the other. Usually after the “Uttanasa” or Forward Fold, we go straight to Plank Pose then followed by the dreaded “Chaturanga”; we rest after with Downward Facing Dog. Whew! Just thinking about the routine makes me sweat in my mind.

During our “Surya Namaskar” routines I discovered something. It actually surprised me. I was able do the modified version of “Chaturanga.” Weeeee! Babaw ba? Hahaha! Even if I was only able to do the modified version, the one with the knees on the floor supporting your upper body, I am really happy. I was able to dip low enough, and feel my triceps and biceps working. Nice one! : ) What an accomplishment, haha! Now I can’t get enough of it, hahaha! Awhile ago I was doing the “Vinyasa” breath flow movement, challenging my body to do “Chaturanga”. Haha! Addicted much? Haha! Can’t wait for my Yoga class tomorrow! : ) Now I can see the improvement in my body. I still have a long long long long way to go, but I am inspired to challenge my body more. I so love Tuesdays and Thursdays! : ) I can’t wait to turn my so called “hate” to “love” in doing my “Chaturangas.”

Week Long Update

2 weeks has passed since my last entry in this blog. I was experiencing a writer’s block as I try to write update my blog last weekend. I keep on staring at the blank new post page as I think on how I will write all the things that have been happening to me. Staring led me to closing the page and moving on to my One Tree Hill Marathon. So here just to update you on some of the things that I have been doing for the past 2 weeks, I will write bits and pieces that I can remember haha!

Chinese Food Overload

“Utang na loob tantanan na natin ang Chinese Food” That was my battle cry, but every time I say that I fail, haha! As a proof of my failure, here are the precise and actual orders that I ate for the past week of my boring life:

Dinner with Rhea – Shrimp Siomai/ Salted Fish Rice – David’s Teahouse – Greenbelt 1

Lunch with Dockers Team and Jr – Beef Wanton Noodle Soup – David’s Teahouse – Greenbelt 1

Late Lunch/ Snack with Rhea in Trinoma – Beef Brisket Noodle Soup – Le Ching Teahouse/ Trinoma

Dinner with Family – 2 orders of Shrimp Siomai – David’s Teahouse – Q-Plaza

And now… Thinking of Beef Wanton Noodle Soup and Siomai – David’s Teahouse – Q-Plaza

Anyone knows the delivery number of David’s Teahouse in Q-Plaza? I know this addiction to Chinese food and particularly Siomai won’t go away. I love Siomai! It helped me get through my break-up, hahaha! Seriously, this is really my ultimate comfort food.

MB Thanksgiving Party

Dockers® Team was invited in the MB Thanksgiving Party and we decided to go. As our contact there informed us there are big ticket prices at stake if we attended the party. Just to name a few, attendees have the chance to win printers, cameras, cash prices and a brand new Mini Cooper. What are the odds that one of us will take home the grand prize right? We don’t even need to purchase anything so we confirmed our RSVP and went to the party. Well no one from our team won haha! But we enjoyed good food and fun performances. After the party Rhea, Jac and I went to Eastwood to window shop, we were about to watch a movie but we missed the last full show. Jac went home after the window shopping, while Rhea and I enjoyed our cocktails in AGAVE. : )

Shopping and Deliveries

From the TEC Office to Magic 89.9 to Robinson’s Galleria to RX 93.1 to Trinoma to SM Megamall! Whew! Our schedule was crazy! We did this the weekend before our Media Launch. I was looking for an outfit while Rhea was looking for shoes. Before we did our shopping we went to 2 radio stations to drop off our Media Launch invites. We went to Magic 89.9 first, had our lunch before going to R RX 93.1. After all the errands, shopping time! : )

I need perfect pair khaki chinos, no bold branding, and chic enough to be worn for a special event but rugged enough to be worn for no denim days. Got what I was looking for in Topshop, a bit pricy but perfect for my specifications. I also got a top from Bayo to go with my chinos but I did not wear it on the event, because I found a perfect top sitting in my closet. I will wear the Bayo top some other time. I bought a very comfy 3 inch wedge in VNC to go with my chinos and it was so nice that it did not give me any discomfort during and after the event.

St. Pio Mass

I finally got a chance to go to the afternoon mass in St. Pio last Sunday. My parents were here for my father’s monthly check up so I asked them if we could go there for our Sunday mass. The priest was different because we caught the afternoon mass. As usual the mass was very solemn, just perfect to thank God for all His blessings, to reflect and ask for enlightenment on things that matters and problems that gets out of hand. Thank you for everything Lord! : )

Media Launch

It’s show time! The day we have been waiting for finally arrived. We were so stressed and busy for the past few weeks because of this, I am not in the position to tell you anything about our launch but I think it went well. It was well attended, but we got a tough crowd, no clapping and no cheering. One of our media guests sang “Born to be Wild” and I can literally hear the crickets after the song, haha! I enjoyed the rest of the evening after the Fashion Show, chatting with guests and office mates. Haaayyy! Kakapagod, but I guess it’s all worth it especially we get good hits about it. Let’s wait and see. : )

Movie

Rhea and I decided to reward ourselves with a little movie after the grueling preparation and Media Launch. We went to Eastwood which is near to our respective homes. It was raining but because we worked our ass off during the past few weeks we know we truly deserve this movie break. We watched “I am Number Four” I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I see the characters John and Henry are like walking ad of Dockers® haha! Most of the time I see them in their khakis, it’s like walking thru that fashion show outfits again, haha! I love the movie! Action packed and exciting. Looking forward to the next movie that I will watch, I have a pretty long line up actually. : )

So that was it! : ) I have to go because I need to prepare for Jamie’s play later. Don’t miss me wordpress, promise I will “try” my very best to update this blog. Byeee! : )

Hair Hair Hair

I just got my hair cut yesterday; it is the shortest cut I have ever sported. I had plans to go this short in my head but never realized that I will be brave enough to do it. Haha! I have booked the appointment for me and my good friend Dothy to Jing Monis Salon last year, and got the confirmation February 19 for our hair cut. Edwin, Dothy and Charlee picked me up at home yesterday for our hair day appointment. We went to Greenhills first to do some wallet shopping, and then we went to Greenbelt 1 in Makati for our haircut appointment.

We arrived just in time for our 2PM appointment, thank God! I don’t want to be late! I was worried that we won’t get there in time because of the unpredictable metro traffic. I know I sound a little uptight when it comes to punctuality but I really get turned off with people who are late for their appointments. Anyways, I got in first because I booked Jing Monis himself for the haircut, since he cut my hair last October I never felt safe with another stylist, haha! OC? I don’t know if it’s just me but I’m really uneasy when it comes to my haircuts, haha! So better stick with the experts. :)

I sat on the chair waiting for my turn, then out of nowhere he was behind me asking the usual question. Our conversation went like this:

J: Hi! So what’s your plan? What do you have in mind? :)

A: I am not decided because I don’t know kung bagay sakin ang pixie cut. But I think I want something like this (showed a picture of Katie Holmes)

J: Yeah ok naman, you can do that… That’s not even pixie, mahaba pa yan.

A: Or my friends were asking me to do the hair of Cesca Litton (showed a picture of Cesca in UNO)

J: (smiles) Ah… You know what I was the one who cut Cesca’s hair in this picture.

A: (Blush) Oh my Gosh! Really? Looks so nice, but I’m not sure of it will look good on me. (Kakahiya, haha!)

J: This is really short, front lang ang long..

A: Bagay ba sakin to? I was the girl who came here na long hair, and asked you to cut it all off, haha!

J: Pwede naman. Yeah! I remember you… :)

A: I still have the picture na pinag-gayahan natin ng hair ko before, at I was thinking din kung yun na lang kaya ulit?

J: No! Let’s do something different. Let’s make it shorter… :)

A: Ok! Go! :)

The result…

I lili lili love it! Haha! It’s really different, pixie style that I think I can pull it off. Now I am dying to have my hair color, I will definitely go back to the salon for it. Actually Dothy and I are now fixing our schedule for it. I am so happy they also enjoyed and love Jing Monis Salon; even Edwin got his hair cut and loved it! :) This is yet another successful salon trip that will definitely make me stay more with them. Thank you so much for taking care of us guys! :) See you in 2 weeks maybe for our hair color session. :)

go see “me” week…

As expected, my week was fully loaded, I barely had time to write or even check my blog. It felt like the week was not enough to do all the stuff that needs to be done. I have 2 presentations, 2 go sees and 1 fitting, on top of that I need to fix the samples to be returned and buy boxers for the Fashion Show! Waaaaaaaaaaaaa! I’m not complaining though, I just need a breather. I love my job! Thank you Lord for giving this job to me. :)

First things first, the 2nd and 3rd presentations is finished. Done with it and hopefully that will be the last of its kind for the season. I really need to improve and get use to these kinds of presentations, I know for a fact that this will not be the last time that I will do this. I can do it! I know I can!

It was my first time to do a Go See, I do not know what the process is and what to expect, I just know we need models for our media launch. I was excited to do it because I see models lining up in the lobby every time our Brand/ Marketing have their Go Sees. Now it’s my turn to meet models and screen them one by one. Weeeee! Not! We were so stressed because Go See Day 1 gave us 4 potential models, FYI we screened 20+ men, in their underwear and in how they present themselves! Stress Drilon ito! We need 4 more to complete the 8 looks that we have. Then Day 2 came, it started a little better because we have different varieties to choose from. A mix of Brazilian Models who stripped naked (Awkward!) in front of us, Pinoy models who were a little conservative than the foreigners and some cute and sexy mix races. If our Day 1 was “Hipon ako, may angal ka?” our Day 2 is “Katawan pa lang ulam na, may desert pang-mukha” Hahaha!
SDC10008SDC19998SDC10004My RED face betrayed me during awkward moments in our Go See… GRRRR!

I’m not sure if doing Go Sees will affect me in my choices of men. I was telling my office mate that it will be their fault if my standards in men will be bit higher than usual. Blame it on good looking men, coming to our Go Sees, Haha! Maybe I should also have my own Go See for my future BF? What do you think? Haha! This is crazy, Haha! No sure if anyone would show up though, hahaha! Anyways, we are still short of 3 models for our key looks, so Go See will continue on Monday. Please Lord! Make the perfect model for the look come on Monday. Please! Please! I’m tired of looking for the perfect guy for me! I mean perfect guy for the look. :) Hopefully we can complete the 8 models by Monday, so that I can move on and concentrate on my outfit for the event. :)

It was indeed a tiring and stressful week, but it was fun fun fun! :) I’m excited to start my week tomorrow to a trip to Tagaytay with my office mates. :) It’s really nice to have a breather for all the stress that work gives us. Need to sleep now, or else, they will kill me for not waking up early. Good night! :)

Happy Vday Everyone! :)

Who says that Valentine’s day are only for lovers?

I never enjoyed Valentine’s like I have this year. :) I was excited to go to the office today because we have a little project called “i ♥ khakis – i ♥ dockers® shirt day.” We gave everyone in the office a white shirt with a print “i ♥ khakis – i ♥ dockers®” and asked them to meet us in the lobby for a photo op, I asked some of my office mates to wear khaki for their bottoms today for a full effect of the project. :) Here are some of our pictures wearing same shirts not minding that we were like Sales Associates for the day, haha!

1Thank you for supporting our “i ♥ khakis – i ♥ dockers® shirt day.”

The Dockers® Team ended the photo op with our own, haha! Some silly poses here and there then we went out for lunch.

Work Hard and Play Harder…

Work! Work! Work! Thank God I have work. I was busier than usual this week, I had to prepare presentations for our dealers but I have to present it to my boss first. The schedule for our first dealer presentation was Friday but I have to show my presentation to my boss the day before it. We were discussing about future project of the brand before our dreaded “production number.” The mood was light, but why am I feeling like I’m about to vomit? I feel sick from the fact that I will be talking in front of people I barely know. Scary!

It’s my first time to do this so I was a nerve wreck! Panicking like doomsday is in the room with us. My presentation with my boss went OK, we did some revisions but all in all it was good. I was inspired to edit my power point presentation after the meeting. I did everything to make it more interesting, added pictures, made some animation effects and the likes. Before ending my working hours I decided to print my edited power point, for me to do my notes as the meeting goes on. I saved my work in our common drive before leaving.

After work we went to the wake of my former office mate’s father in law. I only knew his father in law from the news updates regarding his death and some, but I decided to go there because I want to show my support to my former office mate and her family. The mood in the wake was really depressing. I really feel the sorrow of the family because no one was expecting what happened, no one to blame because he took his own life. It was a long day indeed, I was so tired and I carried the mood of the wake as I went home. *Sad*

Presentation day came, it was so traffic! Long lines, traffic, no carpool and crazy rush hour! I arrived in the office just in time to review my presentation. I opened the saved file in the common drive only to find out that the edited power point is missing! OMG! WTH! I SAVED MY FILE! WHAT HAPPENED!!! I discovered this 30 minutes before the meeting starts! Oh no! What will I do?! Good thing I printed my edited presentation last night, I edited the file like I was fighting for my life! I did not eat my breakfast, no coffee, not even water. I was so tensed. I did not even apply my make-up. I was about to cry but I chose not to, I needed my energy! So there, I finished it on time. Whew! Thank God the meeting went well.

Party time! :) Rhea invited me to join her and her friends to the RX “Singles” Party. Who me? Party? Singles Party? NO way! Hahaha! But I can’t beg off or else she will kill me, haha! Before the party started and while waiting for her friends to arrive, we had a BIG dinner in Uncle Cheffy. How big? Let’s just say we ate an equal fair share of pizza and baby back ribs. The pizza was good for 3-4 persons and the ribs were good for 2-3 persons. Hindi kame gutom, haha! TAOB! Haha!

We went to the party venue and met Rhea’s friend, the party was about to start. Vodka and Sprite was our choice of drinks for the night, it was fun meeting new people. :) I never regret that I joined the party. I totally forgot how stressful my day began, I’m just glad I got out of it alive, haha! I must admit I was a little tipsy when I tried to withdraw cab money before I went home. As a consequence of my drunken ATM moment, I pinned the wrong pin. Booo! I ended up borrowing some cash from my friend just for my cab, haha! I’m so embarrassed. Note to self, never use the ATM when drunk, or else, haha! I arrived home safely, and slept until 12nn. What a way to end my Friday. :) I love it! :)

Yoga-holic! :)

Hi! I am Anne, and I am a beginning to be a Yoga-holic.

VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100

My semi-serious yoga journey began last year, July 28, 2010 to be exact. But my fascination and interest in Yoga began when I started working. I was browsing the net (yup! during office hours, haha!) and I came across websites about Yoga. At first I was afraid to try it, because I thought Yoga practice has to do with changing my religion and spiritual beliefs. I have this thing regarding my religion and I like to remain that way. Anyways, I started reading about Yoga, and I was hooked.

“I can’t touch my feet! How will I join a class if I’m not that flexible? Nakakahiya!” That was my primary “issue” on Yoga. Haha! Yes I am thin but I am embarrassed to admit that I can’t touch my feet. I have tight hamstrings, I can’t even do a simple fold down without me rushing my way up. Looking at pictures on the web, makes me think if I can even survive a class. I read stuff about benefits of Yoga practice and I was impressed that this “simple” exercise has so many benefits, including my primary concern; apparently Yoga can make me touch my feet! Hmmm… Interesting…

I keep on searching the net (guilty! during office hours, haha!), magazines and newspaper for a studio near my office. I called potential studios and asked for their rates and schedules. Whoa! Yoga is not cheap! Earning a 5 digit salary, it will surely rip off my money for a months’ worth of Yoga. I was totally discouraged to try Yoga because of that.

Then I came across a studio that offers a trial session for a week for just a thousand pesos. Being a novice, I asked and convinced my fried to try it as well, at least I won’t be alone making a fool out of myself. Haha! One lunch time we decided to drop by the studio and signed up for the 1 week trial session. The studio is a Bikram Yoga Studio, for those who know what Bikram yoga is, you got it right, 2 beginners, with no yoga knowledge, joined a heated class. Basically Bikram yoga is doing a series of poses in a heated room. So in lay man’s term we will practice yoga in an oven like environment. The heat is to help us with our challenged flexibility and help us to wring out toxins in our body. To cut the story short, my first class in Bikram was literally as hot as hell! I never imagined my body to sweat like I have never sweated in my whole life! I felt dehydrated and nauseous during and after the session, but I am thankful I did not collapsed in the middle of the class. My friend on the other hand enjoyed the class and even enrolled in the 30 day challenge, as for me I attended 2 classes then that’s it for me.

My search for a yoga studio continued as the years passed by, I kept on inquiring on rates and schedules but I don’t have the courage to enroll in another yoga class. I have my reasons why I did not do it, because I was busy with my “so called” love life and because of my family duties.  I do not have a time for myself, no time to exercise, no time to spare for my interests. This was the case until boyfriend of 6 years broke up with me, just in time when I need him the most. This was the time when I was so down because of what was happening to my father. Well enough with the negative things, this was the time when I discovered yoga again. :)

I discovered that there was a studio near my office, and they offer various kinds of yoga classes. I think I was traumatized with the last yoga class that I had “So no heated room for me please!” :) I went to the studio on my lunch break, hoping to speak to the owner but I only saw the caretaker. She showed me around, gave me the class schedule and the rates. When I got back to the office asked my office mate Apple if she is interested, she said yes. :) Weeeee! We took 6 classes together, but because of some unavoidable “circumstances” we were not able to sustain it. Haha! Seriously speaking after my 6 classes with Slow Flow, my interest in Yoga grew deeper. I have experienced some of the benefits of Yoga and I can truly say it has helped me a lot in fighting my depression. It made me stronger as a person, and taught me how to detach myself into things that I have no control of. It taught me how to let go.

An opportunity to introduce Yoga to my current organization opened last November 2010. I was asked to organize the LTG of Kuya B, and he told me he is interested to have Yoga as a topic. I worked with my contacts to look for a Yoga teacher who can do a lecture for the LTG and also a session for those who are interested to try. I met Eunice as I was doing my usual call inquiries, she was very open with all the requests that we are asking, so I decided to invite her for the LTG Session. All went well and surprisingly, a bunch of people signed up for the actual session. We did a 2 free trial session last December and decided to do a full month last January. We are now on our second month of our Yoga Journey, meeting twice a week, every Tuesday/ Thursday. I am so happy that I was able to share my Yoga experience to my office mates, and I am glad that they are also enjoying each session that we have. :) I get a sense of fulfillment when I see that my office mates attending classes and laughing as we do our poses.

Hopefully we can sustain this Yoga classes in the office all throughout the year. :) My personal goal is to try to discover and challenge myself as I go deeper into my own Yoga Journey. I know I can do this, if I put my heart into it. :)

I am Anne. :) I am Yoga-holic! :)

Food for Thought: Karma is a Bitch! (reposted from my TUMBLR 1-6-11)

I know your sorry now but you won’t escape KARMA. It’s a cycle, what you do will come back to you in three folds, no time line necessary. At the end of the day, the bottom line is it’s how you live your life. They say enjoy life to the fullest, do everything to achieve your goals and reach for your dreams, it’s good to enjoy these things knowing that you’re not hurting or taking advantage of anyone. So next time you make a big decision, think about how it will affect your life and the lives of other people involved. It’s not bad to dig deep and ask questions, it’s your right. Remember happiness can be achieved without making someone cry. Just my two cents… :-)

— I decided to post this on my blog just to remind me to stay grounded and to think twice before doing something. haha! Behave Anne! :-P
